Our client is a publicly listed organization in Toronto seeking an interim VP Finance.

(3-month contract, possible extension / temp-to-permanent opportunity possible)

A well-respected Robert Half client is seeking an interim VP Finance to join the company. Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, the interim VP Finance will play a critical role in driving the financial strategy and performance. The interim VP Finance will be accountable for the areas of Financial Reporting and Operations, Treasury, and Risk, ensuring alignment with Finance directives. They will play a critical role in the year end and external audit process.

About the Role (Responsibilities)

• Provide financial leadership and oversight of the finance function

• Reduce risk by establishing, monitoring, and enforcing policies and procedures.

• Oversees the Treasury function and cash flow management.

• Maintain adherence to International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).

• Lead all aspects of the period end close and reporting process.

• Coordinate the year-end audit, acts as primary contact with internal and external auditors on an ongoing basis on accounting policies and practices, inclusive of ongoing IFRS compliance, financial impacts, and financial statement presentation, note disclosures and internal controls.

• Continuously improve financial systems, processes, and controls to ensure efficiency, accuracy, and compliance.

- CPA designation required. Professional Designation by a recognized professional accounting program such as Chartered Professional Accountant.
- 10 Years senior leadership Experience in Financial Accounting including Professional Experience in Public Accounting and Auditing.
- Experience in large public company. SAAS experience an asset
- Experience in accounting standards, auditing of financial statements, and financial management.
- Proven track record of establishing relationships at all levels within an organization, including C-Suite/SVP Level.
- Excellent diplomacy, problem solving and inter-personal skills.
- Ability to identify and handle confidential materials/information appropriately.
- Play a key role in mergers and acquisitions (M- IFRS knowledge a must.
