What to expect on the job: The Vice President, Corporate Communications will play an important leadership role in the achievement of High Liner Foods\' business success through the strategic oversight of the Corporate Communications function. This role will be responsible for the development of an innovative and strategic communications program based on consistent and coordinated messaging that supports and aligns with the organization\'s purpose, goals, objectives and broad stakeholder base. The Vice President, Corporate Communications will be responsible for internal communications and external communications. In close collaboration with the Executive Leadership Team, Senior Management Group and internal stakeholders across the organization, this role will provide communications counsel and oversee the development of all communications materials and activities to enhance HLF\xe2\x80\x99s internal communications experience and overall corporate brand reputation. The role is also responsible for the planning and execution of HLF events.
  • Establish and implement the communication strategy for the company.
  • Lead the Corporate Communications team in developing consistent and coordinated messaging and content for internal and external communication needs.
  • Partner with the Legal department to ensure all communication materials are compliant with applicable laws and ethical standards.
  • Partner with the Sustainability and Government Relations department to ensure effective communication to help advance HLF\xe2\x80\x99s ESG strategy.
  • Partner with Investor Relations to ensure that the company\xe2\x80\x99s financial results are effectively communicated to employees, investors, analysts, and media.
  • Oversee proactive and reactive communications across HLF\xe2\x80\x99s corporate social media channels e.g, LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram (excluding product marketing content across these channels).
  • Foster positive representations of HLF in the media.
  • Review all company-issued and partner-issued press releases naming HLF before their distribution.
  • Track the company\xe2\x80\x99s corporate brand reputation by monitoring perceptions and impacts across key stakeholder groups and platforms including employees, media journalists, external publications, social media, customers, and shareholders.
  • Provide leadership counsel and support for the development of communication plans for company-wide initiatives.
  • Participate as a member of the Business Continuity Steering Team to support crisis management planning and response.
  • Oversee the planning and execution of HLF events including Town Halls, Leadership meetings, Annual General Meeting, etc.
  • Develop the annual communication budget and monitor its execution.
Must haves
  • Bachelor\'s Degree a must.
  • Master\xe2\x80\x99s Degree in Business Administration (MBA) is preferred (equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered).
  • Experience working in, or with, publicly traded companies is essential.
  • At least 10 years\xe2\x80\x99 experience in public relations, corporate communications, or marketing communications field.
  • Minimum 5 years\' experience in a leadership or management role.
  • Bilingualism in English and French is an asset.
  • Strong knowledge and application of communication concepts, theories, strategies, and tactics.
  • Superior written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate with all levels of the organization and the public.
  • Proven interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced, time-sensitive environment with proven time management skills without compromising the quality of work.
  • Self-motivated individual that maintains a high level of performance at all times without compromising integrity or ethical standards.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects at the same time.
  • Highly developed analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proven ability to interpret and communicate complex information to various stakeholder audiences including internal employees, investors, and the general public.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment as well as independently.
