Creekstone Care Centre is conveniently located by Phibbs Bus Exchange near Second Narrows Bridge in North Vancouver.
We offer free parking, bike lockers and showers as we're also on a bike route. (Trust me - we're easy to access!) We opened as a new home in April 2021 and we continue to grow our thriving community. We care about your wellbeing in the Resident neighborhood
. Our home is set-up with 30 residents per floor/neighborhood who are supported by a Nurse Team Leader (LPN and RN) along with a Nurse Assistant (i.e. HCA with medication training), 3 HCA's and 1 recreation team member to facilitate the fun so you should never feel alone when volunteer. You will mainly be volunteering with the recreation team.
We also care about your wellbeing off the Resident neighborhood
and have special staff spaces to relax and recharge, and we host great celebration events too. We value fun and it's never dull or boring at Creekstone!
Volunteer Summary
We are seeking dedicated and passionate individuals to join our team as Volunteers. This role is essential in supporting our mission and making a positive impact within the community
Creating Joy in Aging by Caring Connecting and Celebrating
. Volunteers will engage in various activities that promote our organization's goals, assist with events, and help foster relationships with Creekstone Residents. Please note that this is an unpaid position and we can provide letter for the hours you have volunteered with us.
Resident Engagement & Activities
Assist with group recreation programs (games, arts & crafts, music, gardening, exercise, bingo, etc.).
Provide one-on-one visits for companionship, reading aloud, letter writing, or conversation.
Escort and transport residents (by wheelchair or walking support) to activity rooms, outdoor spaces, or special events.
Support residents with set-up for programs (seating, handing out supplies, adapting materials).
Accompany residents on community outings (shopping, parks, cultural events, dining).
Event & Program Support
Help prepare decorations, supplies, or refreshments for special events and holiday celebrations.
Assist with entertainment days (welcoming performers, helping residents get seated, clapping along, encouraging engagement).
Take photos (with consent) for memory boards or newsletters.
Assist staff in documenting participation for activity records.
Creative & Therapeutic Activities
co-lead arts and crafts, painting, knitting, or other creative hobbies.
Play musical instruments, sing, or support music therapy activities.
Guide light physical activities like chair exercises, balloon toss, or walking groups.
Engage residents in memory-stimulating games, storytelling, or cultural activities.
Administrative & Behind-the-Scenes Help
Organize activity supplies and keep rooms tidy.
Assist with surveys or feedback collection about programs.
Requirements
Positive outlook towards life and aging.
Have a clear criminal record check - We will assist you completing this form.

16 years of age and older - Great after school volunteer hours.
Be available between 03-15 hours per week to volunteer.
We will offer volunteer letters for students who requires as well.
