is to develop, deliver, and communicate visual concepts and strategies that promote the La-Z-Boy brand, products, and services within our physical stores. This individual holds full display responsibility for multiple stores within the company and collaborates closely with various departments to ensure that visual concepts are executed consistently and effectively. Collaboration is expected with store managers, sales teams, design, marketing, operations, and administration. Externally, the position will interact with product suppliers as required.

The Visual Merchandiser will meet mutually agreed-upon targets by maximizing store displays for turn rates and marketability, while ensuring accuracy and consistency with current core lineups.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Planning & Weekly Execution
Walk floors with Lead Visual Merchandiser and Managers to build weekly work plans for each store.
Identify open spaces and plan product placement (core, clearance, weekly specials).
Support Lead Visual Merchandiser in coordinating product transfers as needed.
Execute weekly work plans, including:
Using floor plans to direct and place furniture.
Replacing, hanging, tagging, and augmenting accessories.
Floor Space & Visual Presentation
Implement floor space plans (core / weekly specials / non-core).
Ensure all vignettes are fully accessorized (lamps, rugs, tables, tabletop decor).
Maintain clean, tidy, and client-ready vignettes at all times.
Coordinate with sales and store managers to ensure Areas of Responsibility (AORs) are maintained; train staff as needed on visual standards.
Ensure all in-store product is correctly labeled and priced.
Complete periodic inventory counts and verification.
Manage and maintain visual display supplies (wires, nails, labels, etc.).
Point of Sale (POS) Materials
Provide required POS material lists for assigned stores to the Lead Visual Merchandiser.
Distribute POS materials within stores; sales leads promotional changeovers, while merchandising leads any new POS installation.
Back up the Lead Visual Merchandiser and/or Marketing Coordinator for POS ordering and control processes.
Product Movement
Monitor incoming product (ETS) and action accordingly.
Prioritize incoming core and weekly specials based on floor space.
Transfer incoming lamps, artwork, and accessories immediately to the floor.
Coordinate and action floor transfers in alignment with weekly work plans.
Report damages:
Upholstery/casegoods: report to store desk staff to open service tickets.
Accessories: take photos and report via email to the Lead Visual Merchandiser.
Communication & Performance
Meet or exceed established goals for visual appearance.
Communicate weekly plans, merchandising documentation, and product movement promptly.
Resolve design and sales concerns professionally when the Lead Visual Merchandiser is unavailable.
Stay informed on competitive environments--product, display, trends, pricing--and share insights with merchandising, sales, and management teams.
Maintain professional appearance, demeanor, and attitude.
Demonstrate the company's Core and Leadership competencies.
QUALIFICATIONS
Post-secondary education in decor, merchandising, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
1-3 years of proven merchandising experience in a related environment.
Supervisory experience in a team setting is considered an asset.
Strong coaching and mentoring abilities.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
