We also work with police departments and municipalities to help in keeping Canadians safe.Make a difference!Role: Video Monitoring OperatorLocation: Security Operations Centre- Divisional Office- Victoria- HQ- 928 Cloverdale- VictoriaShifts: Evening and OvernightsReports to: Live Video Monitoring Team Leader, Client Service ManagerWage: $22.50 per hour. Advancement to $24.50 once experience threshold met. Plus RSPAs a Video Monitoring Operator, you\'ll find yourself at the heart of our commitment to safety and security:

  • Be the first line of defense, responding to intrusion alarms promptly using our Video Management Software (VMS) and established procedures
  • Deliver audio warnings to intruders; preventing crime before it takes place
  • Keep impeccable records of alarm events and actions taken in our monitoring software, ensuring clarity and accuracy
  • Execute accurate and timely dispatching of calls to the right emergency contacts as specified by our clients
  • Verify the functionality of customer hardware using our Video Management Software (VMS) and promptly report any equipment issues to management
  • Be ready to tackle other affiliated duties as needed, offering variety and growth
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Available to work flexible shifts when necessary (evening, overnight, weekend and/or statutory holiday shifts)
  • Available to work on a rotating schedule
  • Minimum High School Diploma
  • Fluent in English, written and spoken. Multilingual an asset but not necessary.
  • Must have excellent written communication skills as well as a professional phone manner
  • Excellent customer service skills required with the ability to resolve conflict and problems
  • Be able to manage difficult customer situations
  • Experience in the security industry is an asset
  • Critical thinking, self-motivation, and time management skills
  • Ability to operate individually as well as in a team
  • Strong computer skills, with an ability to learn new software programs quickly
  • Prior experience with Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Office, Outlook, Excel, Word an asset
  • Must be punctual
  • Must have or be willing to complete Basic Security Training (BST)
  • Must pass a criminal background check and obtain a Government of British Columbia Guard License
  • Must be legally entitled to work in Canada
  • Must be able to obtain a Federal Security Clearance
