You know the people, the communities and the culture of Prince Edward Island.You will be a champion for innovative visual storytelling content, advocating for the creative use of video, still images, and graphics and other visual storytelling techniques.Key Tasks:Pitch original story ideas and original video treatments.Gather information from various sources.Arrange and conduct interviews.Plan, edit and deliver video with a focus on live and on-demand video.Understand the key needs of shooting video.Edit recorded items on appropriate/available editing systems.Work with newsroom leadership to develop clear video strategy and workflows.QualificationsYou possess:High-level knowledge of legal and ethical issues related to journalism.Familiarity and understanding of what videos work for our audience and why.Ability to generate original story ideas.Ideas about how to make video content engaging and informative to a P.E.I. audience.Graduation from University or Community College in a relevant course of study or equivalent industry experience.Demonstrated professional experience using various news platforms, including digital, social, radio and television.Substantial experience vetting, editing, fact-checking and packaging video content in compelling and innovative ways.Substantial experience shooting and editing video.Thrives in an innovative and creative environment.
