About Alberta Film School



Alberta Film School is a hands-on training institution focused on photography, videography, and film production. We produce a high volume of real-world content every week including student projects, marketing videos, short-form social content, educational course material, and short films.

We are looking for a

full-time in house video editor

whose primary responsibility is editing, all day, every day. If you are fast, organized, and know how to make content perform, this role is for you.

Role Overview



You will be responsible for editing a wide range of content types, from short-form social clips to long-form educational and narrative projects. This is not a casual or part-time role. We have volume, deadlines, and standards.

Filming skills are a bonus, but

editing ability and speed matter far more

. This is for editors with 2+ years of experience.

Primary Responsibilities



Edit

short-form content

for Instagram, TikTok, YouTube Shorts, and ads Edit

long-form videos

for YouTube, websites, and presentations Edit

course and educational content

for Alberta Film School programs Edit

short films and narrative projects

as needed Create engaging cuts that prioritize

retention, pacing, and performance

Add captions, basic graphics, music, and sound design Organize footage and manage project files efficiently Turn around edits quickly while maintaining quality Filming when needed.

Required Skills & Experience



Proven experience as a video editor

(portfolio required)

Strong sense of timing, pacing, and storytelling Ability to edit both

fast, performance-driven content

and

clean, polished long-form videos

Comfortable editing high volumes of content on tight timelines Experience with

captions, on-screen text, music selection, and basic sound design

Organized workflow and strong file management habits 2+ years of experience.

Software



Experience with

Adobe Premiere Pro

is preferred Editors may use

any professional editor that they are most comfortable with

(Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, DaVinci Resolve, etc.) Ability to work with shared storage and collaborative workflows is a plus
