Nokiiwin Tribal Council is seeking a

Victim Services Social Worker

to join our Access to Justice Department.

Key Responsibilities:



Provide trauma-informed, culturally safe, and client-centered social work services to victims and survivors of crime, violence, and trauma. Deliver specialized programs such as Victim Quick Response Program+ (VQRP+). Offer wrap-around support including safety planning, emotional support, case management, and system navigation. Develop educational materials and provide awareness on issues affecting victims and survivors. Maintain accurate and confidential client records in compliance with Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers (OCSWSSW) and agency standards. Prepare mandatory reports and maintain statistical data. Build relationships with local service providers, First Nation health centres, justice partners, and community organizations. Participate in outreach activities to engage clients and strengthen community partnerships.

Qualifications and Skills:



Must have a Bachelors or Master of Social Work (BSW/MSW) from an accredited institution.

Possesses a minimum of five years and up to seven years of progressive, relevant professional experience delivering services within a community-based environment such as social work, victim services, outreach programs, and family support services. Membership in good standing with Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers (OCSWSSW) or eligibility for registration. Experience working with Indigenous individuals, families, and communities, including cultural protocols and teachings. Education and experience in trauma-informed care. Strong interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a multi-disciplinary, culturally diverse environment. Proficiency with case management systems (EMHware), data entry, and reporting tools. Valid Ontario driver's license, reliable vehicle and current automobile insurance. Understanding of Anishinaabe culture and ability to speak Ojibway is an asset. Satisfactory Level 3 Police Vulnerable Sector Screening.
