: Salaries range from $174, 625 to $232, 833 annually, based on qualifications and experiences, plus a performance-based incentive.

Location:



Export Development Canada operates in a hybrid work environment, currently requiring employees to work in the office3 days per week. (subject to change) This role can be performed from EDC's headquarters in Ottawa or from one of our Community Hubs located in Toronto and Montreal. Relocation assistance is available for candidates who meet the eligibility criteria.

Team Overview:




The VP, Enterprise Data Operations & Chief Data Officer plays a critical leadership role within the Information Technology & Digital function, driving the strategic use of data and analytics to enable business transformation, innovation, and operational excellence. This executive will lead the development and execution of enterprise-wide data strategies, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and digital priorities. The role is responsible for shaping the future of data architecture, governance, and advanced analytics, while fostering a culture of data-driven decision-making across the organization. This executive role is ideal for a visionary leader passionate about harnessing data to drive strategic transformation. The successful candidate will be instrumental in shaping EDC's data future, influencing decisions at the highest levels, and enabling innovation across the enterprise.

What you will be doing:




Strategic Leadership & Business Alignment

Lead the development and execution of data and analytics strategies that align with corporate objectives and drive measurable business outcomes. Develop annual business plans, including KPIs, budgets, and business cases for key initiatives. Translate complex data insights into actionable strategies for executive decision-making. Communicate a clear vision that connects data strategy to broader organizational goals and values.

Enterprise Data Strategy & Architecture

Define and implement enterprise data architecture, data governance models, and standards. Oversee the design and delivery of data management systems that meet evolving business needs. Ensure compliance with data privacy regulations and industry standards. Set the direction for advanced and predictive analytics to anticipate performance challenges and uncover opportunities.

Digital Transformation & Innovation

Lead digital strategy execution, identifying areas for rapid digitization and designing operating models to support transformation. Champion data-driven product and service improvements based on emerging customer preferences and market trends.

Talent Development & Leadership

Build and lead high-performing teams, fostering a culture of ethical, open communication and cross-functional collaboration. Create equitable development opportunities and provide clear performance expectations and feedback. Champion diversity and inclusion within data teams. Identify and nurture future leaders within the data and analytics space.

Artificial Intelligence Strategy & Integration

Lead the strategic integration of artificial intelligence across enterprise data operations, identifying opportunities to leverage AI for predictive analytics, automation, and enhanced decision-making. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement AI-driven solutions that improve data quality, operational efficiency, and customer insights. Ensure ethical and responsible use of AI technologies, aligning with organizational values and regulatory standards.



Change Management & Business Continuity

Lead change initiatives that support organizational agility and innovation. Address succession risks and ensure continuity in leadership and data capabilities.

Stakeholder Engagement & Advisory

Serve as a trusted advisor to senior executives, providing expert guidance on data strategy, policy implementation, and transformational projects. Build strong internal partnerships to ensure alignment and integration across business units.

What we are looking for:



Degree in business administration or a technology-related field Minimum of 15 years of experience in digital or IT roles Minimum of 10 years of experience in a leadership position managing high-performing teams capable of maximizing the impact of technology and digital value creation and adoption of new and emerging technologies Demonstrated experience and success in senior leadership roles in information security, and IT security. Proven track record of leading enterprise-wide data transformations. Strong understanding of regulatory environments affecting data use in financial services. Demonstrate capability and experience at managing multiple vendors and partners to support technology operations team. Bilingual in both official languages



What will make you stand out:



MBA and/or degree/diploma in business related domain. Certification in data governance, AI ethics, or cloud architecture.
