The University is seeking a seasoned and strategic leader for the role of Vice-President (External). This
dynamic professional will be charged with advancing and enhancing Guelph\'s brand, reputation, and
relationships with its many stakeholders, and will provide leadership to advancement, communications
and marketing. They will have overall responsibility for advancing the University\'s commitment to
internationalization and global impact, and will provide strategic counsel to the President on all issues
related to institutional reputation. In addition, they will support the President in their role as chief
spokesperson for the University.
The ideal candidate is a seasoned and strategic leader with broad and deep experience in
communications and advancement. They wil have earned their experience in an organization of
complexity and, ideally, will have some knowledge of the particular issues in post-secondary
education. They will possess outstanding communications skills, be a superb relationship-builder, and
have a natural inclination to seek consensus and work ef ectively in a highly col egial environment.
