Salary:

$150k to $180k



About the Role

We are seeking a dynamic and strategic Vice President, Human Resources to lead the design, execution, and continuous improvement of all people-focused strategies and programs across our organization. This executive leadership position plays a critical role in aligning human resources, labour relations, and health & safety initiatives with organizational priorities, driving performance, and supporting long-term growth.

As VP, Human Resources, you will foster a values-driven, inclusive, and high-performance culture, serving as a trusted partner to the executive leadership team while positioning the organization for transformational growth and sustained success.



Key Responsibilities



Strategic Leadership

Drive the overall people strategy to support business growth, workforce sustainability, and organizational transformation Advise the executive team on HR, labour relations, and occupational health & safety matters Align people and safety strategies with operational needs, compliance requirements, and industry best practices Lead organizational design, workforce optimization, and change management initiatives Promote a culture of accountability, wellbeing, diversity and inclusion, psychological safety, and continuous learning

Human Resources Programs

Oversee talent and performance management, leadership development, employee engagement, retention, succession planning, and total rewards strategies Manage compensation and benefits programs that support recruitment, retention, and pay equity Optimize HR systems and technologies to enhance operational efficiency and workforce analytics Champion employee engagement, feedback mechanisms, and transparent communication channels Ensure HR programs are scalable, compliant, and aligned with a modern, diverse workforce

Occupational Health & Safety

Lead the development and oversight of national OH&S programs, policies, and procedures Ensure compliance with provincial health and safety legislation, including training, inspections, reporting and maintenance of COR certification(s). Drive a proactive safety culture that emphasizes awareness, accountability, and continuous improvement Lead internal audits, risk assessments, and incident investigations with actionable follow-up

Compliance and Risk Management

Ensure compliance with employment laws, human rights legislation, and health & safety regulations Maintain and communicate HR and OH&S policies, handbooks, and compliance documentation Mitigate organizational risk through sound governance and adherence to ethical and regulatory standards

Workforce Planning & Talent Strategy

Oversee workforce planning and talent acquisition strategies Support succession planning, career progression, and leadership development programs Leverage HR analytics to identify trends and guide strategic decision-making

Team Leadership

Lead, mentor, and develop a national HR and OH&S team, fostering a culture of collaboration, empowerment, and results Promote a values-based leadership approach that aligns with company culture and operational excellence

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Commerce, Business Administration, or related field (labour relations experience is a strong asset) 10+ years of progressive HR leadership experience, ideally in a multi-site, unionized environment Extensive knowledge of labour laws, employment standards, Human Rights legislation, and OHS regulations (e.g., OHSA, WSIB, WCB) Proven success in designing and leading HR and safety programs at scale Strong business acumen with experience in financial planning, budgeting, and linking people strategy to business outcomes Exceptional interpersonal, change management, and communication skills Ability to influence executive leadership and drive cross-functional collaboration
