Position Scope:
As our organization embarks on a transformative ERP implementation, we are entering a period of significant technological change. We are seeking a visionary leader who can guide our Data & Technology team through the current state and into a future operating model ensuring alignment, clarity, and engagement at every step. This role is pivotal in shaping how we leverage technology to drive operational excellence and bring our people along on the journey.
Responsibilities:
Strategic leadership of Data & Technology Group across Oxford, fostering innovation and collaboration.
Establish a robust business partnership model to enhance technology solutioning and align IT initiatives with business outcomes
Drive strategic technology planning with a practical and pragmatic approach to solutioning.
Provide deep expertise in enabling technology (application, data, analytics, automation and artificial intelligence) development and enhancement, ensuring scalable and efficient processes and systems.
Leverage data and artificial intelligence, including large language model (LLM) development, to advance Oxford's technological capabilities.
Optimize the overall technology function, improving performance, efficiency, vendor management and alignment with organizational objectives.
Guide the strategic direction of the IT department, ensuring long-term sustainability and growth.
Build and nurture a high-performing team of technologists and business professionals.
Foster strong partnerships with the OMERS Data & Technology team and Centers of Excellence (COEs), ensuring alignment, collaboration, and shared success across enterprise-wide initiatives.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems or a related field; advanced degree in Technology or MBA preferred
10-15+ years of progressive leadership experience in technology, with at least 8+ years of leading large teams
Excellent leadership skills and ability to manage a cross functional team effectively through organizational change
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to translate complex technical concepts into business-friendly language
Strategic thinker with a track record of driving innovation and transformation
Demonstrated success in technology business partnering or similar strategic roles
Demonstrated ability to manage large-scale technology projects and initiatives
Proven experience in understanding and leading teams in data architecture, governance and advanced analytics
Demonstrated ability to develop, test and deploy applications, automation, and artificial intelligence in compliance with SDLC requirements and frameworks
ITIL, NIST or other technology-related certifications considered an asset
