Job SummaryWhat is the opportunity?Conferences and events are the predominant marketing tool used in developing client relationships, enhancing client knowledge, and promoting RBCCM capabilities; this position contributes to the consistent advancement of these functions, ultimately resulting in continued financial success for the organization.This position works directly with the businesses and in concert with the rest of the Client & Marketing Strategy Team in advancing their strategy, and that of RBCCM as a whole. Your role will be to design and develop conference and event strategies for RBCCM component businesses.What will you do?

  • Develop and manage overall program budgets and resourcing for conferences and events
  • Negotiate contracts with venues and other suppliers
  • Manage the professional development of direct reports
  • Oversee development and delivery of complex conferences and events
  • Develop conference & event marketing analytics, and provide strategic recommendations to business
  • Proactively introduce tools and processes to push the conference planning team forward.
  • Participates and provides leadership to organizational initiatives and priorities outside of own business area
  • Some travel will be required
What you need to succeed?
  • 8-10+ years\xe2\x80\x99 experience in planning conferences and events in an investment banking or financial services environment, with specific experience in strategic development
  • Event Management Certificate and/or CMP Certification an asset
  • Strong organizational and project management skills
  • Ability to work with senior leadership, external clients and suppliers, and strong interpersonal skills
  • Strong team orientation, and communication skills (written and oral)
  • Ability to manage conflicting priorities, changing elements and challenging personalities
  • Superior skill in Microsoft Office, and other industry technology
