Job Description


Rocket Science is an Emmy nominated boutique visual effects studio collaborating with filmmakers to create stunning visual imagery utilizing artistry, science and technology. Located in Toronto, Canada, notable credits include Eric Kripke\xe2\x80\x99s Emmy nominated superhero series THE BOYS (Amazon), Tim Burton\xe2\x80\x99s streaming hit sensation WEDNESDAY (Netflix), the epic video game adaptation HALO (Paramount +), Steve Blackman\xe2\x80\x99s THE UMBRELLA ACADEMY (Netflix) and the recently released POKER FACE (Peacock) from Rian Johnson. The multifaceted VFX studio also boasts features such as David Cronenberg\xe2\x80\x99s CRIMES OF THE FUTURE, Noah Baumbach\xe2\x80\x99s WHITE NOISE (Netflix) and Rachel Morrison\xe2\x80\x99s soon to be released FLINT STRONG (MGM).

RSVFX is currently in production on Mike Flanagan\xe2\x80\x99s Edgar Allan Poe adaptation THE FALL OF THE HOUSE OF USHER (Netflix), the fourth season of THE BOYS and its upcoming spinoff GEN V for Amazon, Jeremy Garelick\xe2\x80\x99s MURDER MYSTERY 2 (Netflix) and FREAKY TALES (eOne), written and directed by CAPTAIN MARVEL duo, Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck.

Responsibilities

  • Manage script breakdowns and budgeting.
  • Liaise with show Producers, Directors, Production and Post-Production departments.
  • Manage project costs and overall performance.
  • Work with the Production team to establish and manage achievable schedules.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to Production Assistants, Coordinators, and Managers.
  • Provide ongoing research and identify trends to ensure the studio is up to date with resources and processes, both creative and technical.
Requirements
  • At least 2 years\xe2\x80\x99 experience as a VFX Producer on recognized Film and/ or TV series.
  • Proven ability to deliver quality VFX on time and on budget.
  • A calm and positive demeanor.
  • A complete understanding of both feature film and television VFX production pipelines.
  • Well versed in principles of live action film and television production, including directing, lighting, camera, special effects, grip, art department, costumes and props.
  • Excellent planning, negotiation, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and problem solve in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to take initiative and handle both creative and technical issues in a professional manner.
  • A team player with excellent communication skills.
