Duties
With our team:
Hiring
: Writing advertisements; Screening candidates via email/telephone interviews as well as in person interviews.
Training current staff
: Organizing, assigning, or leading monthly training events; identifying and making available continuing education to staff, including client care specialists, assistants, and veterinary technicians.
Training for new staff
: New staff prep, orientation, on-site training; improving current training resources
Annual staff reviews
: Revising review process, consolidating information, sitting with staff one-on-one.
Vet schedule
: Arranging shift trades or locums for veterinary staff breaks.
Management of staff concerns
: Being available to discuss and action issues; identifying regions of concern and directing improvements.
Within our Clinic
Rebates and reps
: Meeting with company reps to discuss promotions and opportunities
Practice assessment
: Completing the annual CVBC practice assessment.
Client Care:
Supporting reception staff in client care communication and service.
Equipment
: Pricing, sourcing, and purchasing necessary equipment or parts; organizing regular maintenance; troubleshooting or arranging service for equipment that requires repairs.

We are located in gorgeous coastal Sooke, BC on Vancouver Island. Set in the middle of gorgeous rainforest and shorelines, the area is perfect for biking, fishing, hiking, farming, and more! Close enough to the capital to be convenient, but far enough to be affordable and move at a slower pace, Sooke is a growing city with a small-town feel.
