Queen West Animal Hospital is a busy and well-established clinic in downtown Toronto, and we're looking for an experienced Veterinary Assistant to join our friendly, hard-working team.

As a Veterinary Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting our veterinarians and RVT's, and ensuring the well-being of the animals in our care. This position is ideal for someone who is compassionate, reliable, and dedicated to providing high-quality care to pets and their owners. You'll be part of a fast-paced environment where teamwork, communication, and attention to detail help us deliver the best possible care.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide general patient care for hospitalized pets (monitoring, feedings, general comfort, ensuring cage cards are accurate, belongings) Take dogs outside for bathroom breaks at appropriate times Assist DVMs and RVTs with restraint, treatments, surgical monitoring, and clean up Prepare laboratory samples for testing and assist with laboratory procedures Keep cages, exam rooms, and treatment areas clean and stocked Receive and organize inventory products

Schedule & Benefits:

The successful candidate can expect to work 36-40 hours per week, including two Saturdays per month.

Pay: $19.00-$22.00 per hour
