Central Vaughan Animal Hospital is looking for an enthusiastic

Veterinary Assistant

to join our superstar team!
We are a privately owned animal practice located in Thornhill, serving the community with professionalism and high-quality care.

This is a permanent full-time position. Remuneration is commensurate with experience and includes extended health benefits and excellent staff discounts. New graduates and candidates with animal care backgrounds are encouraged to apply!

Responsibilities:

Assisting veterinarians and technicians with patient handling and treatments Collecting samples and preparing them for diagnostic testing Preparing patients for procedures (clipping, surgical site prep, IV catheter assistance, etc.) Assisting during surgical procedures and monitoring patients under supervision Providing outstanding client service to pet owners Coordinating and communicating with team members regarding patient care Maintaining accurate medical records and patient charts Monitoring hospitalized patients Cleaning, organizing, and maintaining equipment and hospital areas

Qualifications:

Previous experience in a veterinary clinic or animal care environment preferred Strong communication and organizational skills Compassionate, reliable, and eager to learn Ability to collaborate with a team and multitask in a fast-paced environment

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $19.00-$25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 35 - 44 per week
