Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Veterinary Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in supporting veterinarians and ensuring the well-being of our animal patients. This position requires a strong commitment to animal care, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Duties

Assist veterinarians during examinations and procedures by restraining animals and preparing necessary equipment. Perform routine laboratory tasks such as collecting samples, conducting tests, and maintaining accurate records. Monitor the health and behavior of animals in our care, reporting any concerns to the veterinary staff. Maintain cleanliness and organization within the clinic, including sterilizing instruments and cleaning examination rooms. Provide compassionate care to animals, ensuring their comfort during visits. Educate pet owners on proper animal care, including nutrition, grooming, and preventive health measures. Assist with administrative tasks as needed, including scheduling appointments and managing patient records.

Qualifications

Previous experience as a veterinary assistant or in a similar role is preferred but not required. Must be 19 years or older, and able to lift at least 60lbs Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with pet owners and team members. Ability to handle animals safely and compassionately. Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail. Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends if necessary. A passion for animal welfare and a desire to contribute positively to their health and well-being.

Pay: $17.85-$20.00 per hour
