overnight receptionist / veterinary assistant.

The position involves:
Assisting clients both in person and over the phone.
Greeting clients in a calm and pleasant manor.
Accurately entering client and animal information into a computer software system and following animal intake protocols.
Processing payments.
Assisting RVT's and veterinarians with animal handling and procedures. (knowledge of proper animal restraint is an asset).
Animal husbandry such as cleaning kennels, feeding and walking hospitalized patients.
General cleaning including laundry, medical equipment/ instruments, sweeping, vacuuming, mopping and following proper disinfectant protocols.
Doing cash-out and end-of-day reports.
Working alone / with minimal supervision.
We are seeking outgoing, mature individuals who excel at customer service and keeping the environment clean and organized. The ideal candidates will be comfortable working with cats, dogs and some wildlife and has the following traits:
Can communicate effectively with clients and co-workers.
Able to exercise patience and empathy with animal owners.
Has excellent phone etiquette.
Has excellent written and oral communication.
Has the ability to prioritize efficiently and multitask.
Is self-motivated and can work alone or with minimal supervision.
Is knowledgeable of veterinary clinic procedures and terminologies.
Knowledge of animal husbandry of hospitalized patients.
Has the physical ability to lift up to 40-50 lbs.
Demonstrates exceptional organizational skills to keep the work environment tidy and comfortable.
The candidates will have at least a year of experience working with small animals (preferably in a clinic setting) and 2 years in customer service. They must be reliable, have excellent communication skills, be self-motivating, work well as a team or as an individual, be detail orientated and work well under pressure.
