Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Veterinary Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing high-quality care to our animal patients while supporting our veterinary staff in various tasks. This position requires a love for animals, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

Assist veterinarians during examinations and procedures by holding animals and preparing necessary instruments. Perform laboratory tasks such as collecting samples, conducting basic tests, and maintaining laboratory equipment. Ensure the cleanliness and organization of examination rooms, surgical areas, and the overall facility. Provide compassionate care to animals by monitoring their comfort and well-being during visits. Communicate effectively with pet owners regarding their pets' health, treatment plans, and post-care instructions. Maintain accurate medical records and assist with administrative tasks as needed. Help with the restraint of animals for examinations and treatments while ensuring safety for both the staff and the pets.

Requirements

Previous experience as a Veterinary Assistant or in a similar role is preferred but not mandatory. Knowledge of laboratory procedures is a plus. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with pet owners and team members. Ability to handle animals safely and compassionately in various situations. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends or holidays if necessary. High school diploma or equivalent; additional veterinary-related education or certification is an advantage.

Pay: $20.00-$30.00 per hour
