Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Veterinary Assistant to join our team. In this role, you will support veterinarians and veterinary technicians in providing high-quality care to animals. Your responsibilities will include assisting with examinations, performing laboratory tests, and ensuring a clean and safe environment for both pets and staff. The ideal candidate will have a passion for animal care and a desire to learn and grow within the veterinary field.

Duties

Assist veterinarians during examinations and procedures by holding animals and preparing necessary equipment Perform routine laboratory tests, including blood draws, urinalysis, and fecal examinations Maintain accurate medical records and update patient information in the system Clean and sterilize surgical instruments, exam rooms, and other areas of the clinic Provide compassionate care to animals during their stay at the clinic, including feeding, bathing, and exercising them as needed Educate pet owners on proper care, nutrition, and preventive health measures Monitor animal behavior and report any changes to the veterinarian or technician

Requirements

Previous experience as a veterinary assistant or in a similar role is preferred Laboratory experience is highly desirable Strong communication skills to effectively interact with pet owners and team members Ability to handle animals safely and compassionately Attention to detail and strong organizational skills Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends if necessary A genuine passion for animal welfare and commitment to providing excellent care
Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $17.20-$22.00 per hour
