Overview

Gladstone Vet Clinic is a busy mixed animal practice. We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate full-time Veterinary Assistant(s) for small and large animals to join our team. In this role, you will provide essential support to veterinarians and veterinary technicians in delivering high-quality care to animals. You will assist in various tasks, ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for both pets and their owners. This position is ideal for individuals who are passionate about animal welfare and eager to contribute to a dynamic veterinary practice.

Responsibilities

Assist veterinarians during examinations and procedures by holding animals and providing necessary tools. Prepare animals for surgery, including monitoring vital signs and administering medications as directed. Perform laboratory tasks such as collecting samples, running tests, and maintaining laboratory equipment. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the clinic, including sterilizing instruments and cleaning treatment areas. Provide excellent customer service by communicating with pet owners about their pets' care and answering questions. Assist with the intake of patients, including recording medical histories and updating patient files. Help manage inventory by ordering supplies and ensuring all necessary materials are stocked.

Skills

Strong interpersonal skills with a focus on customer service. Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment. Basic knowledge of animal care practices and veterinary terminology. Experience or familiarity with laboratory procedures is highly desirable. Strong organizational skills with attention to detail. Ability to handle animals safely and compassionately. Willingness to learn new skills and adapt to a fast-paced environment.

Pay: $16.00-$20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
