We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Veterinary Assistant to join our team. In this role, you will support Veterinarians in providing high-quality care to animals while ensuring a clean and safe environment. This position is ideal for individuals who are passionate about animal welfare and have a keen interest in veterinary medicine.
Duties
Assist Veterinarians during examinations and procedures by restraining animals and preparing necessary instruments.
Perform routine laboratory tasks, including collecting samples and conducting basic tests.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the clinic, including sterilizing equipment and ensuring proper waste disposal.
Provide compassionate care to animals, including feeding and exercising as needed.
Communicate effectively with pet owners regarding their animals' health and treatment plans.
Document patient information accurately in medical records.
Requirements
Graduate of a Veterinary Assistant program in Canada.
Minimum one year experience as a Veterinary assistant.
Laboratory experience is highly desirable to assist with diagnostic procedures.
Strong communication skills and the ability to work well in a team-oriented environment.
Compassionate attitude towards animals and their owners.
Ability to handle animals safely and effectively, including those that may be frightened or aggressive.
Experience handling large and strong breed dogs.
Flexibility to work varying shifts, including Saturdays as needed.

Pay: $17.20-$20.50 per hour
