The Alberta International Medical Graduates Association (AIMGA) is looking to hire a responsible and organized Program Coordinator for a program that targets marginalized and vulnerable newcomers in Alberta who have difficulties understanding and accessing vaccine-related information.
Your role will involve working closely with our Vaccine Navigator team for whom you will be responsible to support. The aim of this program is to increase vaccine equity, vaccine literacy, and to provide navigation supports to individuals and their families. Ultimately, the Program Coordinator's duties are to ensure that all tasks are completed on time, within budget, and meet high quality standards.
Duties
Coordinate all incoming requests for patient navigation, health education/promotion, and community outreach;
Develop project plan in order to meet deliverables as outlined in proposal, breaking down tasks into doable actions and setting timeframes;
Assign tasks to vaccine navigators and manage navigation schedule via AIMGA's patient navigator tool; follow up with navigators post-assignment; ensure necessary information is collected;
Plan the provision and dissemination of multilingual promotional materials;
Support the planning of community vaccine events;
Facilitate and contribute to social media campaigns to combat misinformation;
Create educational materials using evidence-based materials and references;
Collaborate, facilitate regular communication, and partner with immigrant serving/community organizations, local community leaders, medical clinics and community health centres, workplaces and schools,
Provide input on booking system for community and health providers to book a navigator for assistance with interpretation and/or accompaniment to vaccine appointments; manage all updates to the tool and orientations to the tool;
Manage multi-lingual phone line for those who have questions in community, and
Coordinate meetings with partners; send meeting invites using Microsoft Outlook; take minutes and complete these in a timely manner (1-2 days);
Meet with Executive Director regularly to provide project updates; come prepared with updates in hand for distribution/discussion;
Collect all necessary data; maintain organization of files and shared folder
Responsible for all evaluation and reporting requirements;
Develop and implement an evaluation plan with routine reporting of project deliverables
Experience
Education: minimum of a bachelor's degree in a health-related field (Public Health is an asset)
Proven work experience as a Program or Project Coordinator or similar role from conception to delivery (preferably in the medical/health field)
Experience working with newcomer communities (e.g., immigrants, refugees) is an asset
Excellent time management, high level of organizational skills, and computer skills are required
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Proven ability to work successfully within a team, resolve conflict, and to conduct oneself with diplomacy and maturity;
Take initiative and solve problems
