Reporting to the Mechanical Trades Supervisor, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient performance of general utility duties in the plant.Key elements of this role include:As a Utility Worker II (Shift):You will be responsible for the safe and efficient performance of general utility duties including but not limited to heavy labour, routine maintenance work, operating of equipment such as small tractors, snowplowing equipment, mobile sweepers, etc., cleaning of plant equipment, preventative maintenance duties, repair maintenance duties, environmental maintenance and control, vegetative control, etc.You will provide assistance to other Utility workers in the performance of their duties.You may be temporarily assigned to other locations to assist other areas when required and will be expected to travel throughout the province.You will be required to take training courses e.g.: in-house safety, environmental, vehicle operation and other training courses related to your position. You must be willing to participate in on-the-job training or training programs that support the development of additional skills.You will be responsible for your personal safety and that of your co-workers by observing and ensuring compliance with all Occupational Health and Safety Rules and Regulations.You will be accountable for environmental performance as it relates to the environmental management system processes and initiatives.You will demonstrate your knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act, and your responsibilities under the Act.You will take a very proactive approach to Safety in the Plant and will demonstrate your commitment to the Risk Assessment Process consistently.This position is considered a safety sensitive position.
