Another stunning chapter for Fairmont Royal York has begun.As the utility person, your primary responsibility is to provide linen and terry to all departments and to carry out the below duties:

  • Feed the ironer and receive the linen from Sheet folder, sort and pack them on the rack.
  • Check all the linen and sort the stain and ripped linen and place them in separate bins.
  • Move the packed linen racks to appropriate area.
  • Fold terry and pack them in the rack.
  • Report equipment malfunctions to the laundry manager or supervisor immediately.
  • Cleaning and sorting soiled linen from the chute.
  • Sorting Table linen.
  • Cleaning the chute.
  • Pushing and pulling linen carts weighting over 300 pounds.
  • Load the terry into the dryer and start the dryers
  • Unload the dryers when the drying cycle is completed.
  • Clean the surrounding area.
  • Perform other duties assigned by the Laundry manager or supervisor.
  • Complies with Hotel policy and procedures.
  • Operate washing machine, ensuring proper quality of laundry is available for each day\'s requirements.
  • Ensure all washing equipment is operating properly and safely. Any malfunctions or problems in
  • Area should be reported to the laundry manager or the supervisor.
  • Load the washer; ensure proper poundage for each washer. Select the formula and start the cycle.
  • Unload the washer when the cycle is completed.
  • Clean the washer and the surrounding area.
  • Check for sufficient supply of chemicals. Load and unload chemicals.
  • Perform other duties assigned by the manager and the supervisor.
QualificationsQualifications:
  • Fluency in English (written and verbal) a must
  • Teamwork approach to all duties and helpful attitude with co-workers
  • Efficient and effective approach to completing all tasks
  • Previous experience in laundry is preferred
