• Work location, various
• Camp available if not local
• Shift will vary depending on the site
• Day & Nights 21/7 rotation

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Operate an articulated truck, dozer, excavator, or loader to move or displace earth, rock, gravel, or other materials during construction-related activities in a safe, productive, and efficient manner.
• Adhere to all company and client safe work practices, policies, workplace safety regulations, and identify defects in heavy-duty equipment and communicate any unsafe conditions, incidents/injuries on time to the supervisor to facilitate prompt correction and reporting
• Clean, lubricate and perform other minor maintenance work.
• Perform pre-and post-trip inspections on equipment operated, ensuring safety and roadworthiness
• Accurate completion of work orders and safety documentation
• Accept instructions from the Leader or Shift Supervisor as directed, and adjust work and strategy according to changing conditions, policies, and procedures as needed.
• Participate in toolbox meetings; provide suggestions for improvement and safety.
• Maintain a safe disposition at all times, ensure the safety of the client site and, more importantly, the safety of fellow personnel/drivers

Qualifications

• 7 years of finishing level experience on a minimum of 3 pieces of equipment such as as a Loaders, Dozers, Graders, Excavators, Rock trucks, and other pieces of heavy equipment
• Knowledge and a firm understanding of equipment safety and work practices maintenance and storage
• Previous experience in road construction and maintenance techniques
• Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to perform routine vehicle maintenance
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Must be able to work with little supervision; must be self-directed.
• Retention of a valid class five (5) driver's license and clean five (5) year drivers' abstract is required.
• Required Tickets: CSO/BSO, WHMIS, CSTS, Ground Disturbance II, H2S Alive, TDG and First Aid
