A private licensed childcare centre located in East Toronto is urgently seeking an experienced and loving
Registered Early Childhood Educator
to join our centre. This position is expected to start June 2nd, 2025
and is offered as a FIVE month contract.
The candidate will work alongside other room partners and will report to the Program Supervisor regarding the daily operations of the program, including implementing and monitoring program policies and procedures, liaising with parents, and record keeping. Duties include, but are not limited to the following:
Assist in the daily operations of the centre in compliance with the policies and regulations of the Child Care and Early Years Act
Provides guidance and ongoing supervision of playroom, playground, group, individual and routine activities
Assists in maintaining a safe and healthy environment by performing periodic safety checks of equipment, facilities and identifies children who are unwell
Establishes and maintains relationships with parents through open communication by daily reports, daily interactions, formal parent interviews and parent information sessions.
Maintains a current knowledge of E.C.E. theories, practices and issues
Performs other related duties as assigned by the Supervisor or Director
Maintains a high standard of a safe, healthy, and caring environment for the children and staff
Ensures curriculum implementation and program delivery
Maintains a very clean and tidy environment when active play is not engaged
Above average ability to work independently, multi-task, time management, and organizational skills

Requirements and Skills
Must Have a Diploma in Early Childhood Education
Must be REGISTERED and in good standing with the College of ECE (Registered Early Childhood Educator). Mandatory.
Minimum of
1 year
working in a licensed child care setting
Solid understanding of current theories including ELECT, and HDLH
Solid understanding of Emergent Curriculum
Strong knowledge of government legislations (CCEYA, Public Health, Fire Code)
Good relationship development skills with the ability to build and maintain good rapport with families and the community
Sound judgment and decision making skills with the ability to effectively administer/reinforce policies as appropriate
Good problem solving skills with the ability to analyze and diagnose issues and reach solutions with limited assistance
Ability to work in stressful situations and adapt quickly to changing environments

Note:The successful candidate must have a valid First Aid and CPR certification; up-to-date medical including Tuberculosis test and immunization; Vulnerable Sector police check, complete a 3 month probationary period.
?Salary: $24.86 inclusive of WEG and CWELCC Grants, Annual Vacation, Annual Time Off During Winter Break, Annual Sick Days, Benefits after 3 months.
