Job Title: Senior Data Engineer - Snowflake/DBT

We are seeking a Senior Data Engineer with expertise in Snowflake and DBT to join our team in Toronto. This role requires a deep understanding of cloud data platforms and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams to achieve data-driven business objectives.
Required Skills & Qualifications

• Deep understanding of the Snowflake cloud data platform, including writing procedures, functions, UDFs, and window functions (5 years experience).
• Strong hands-on experience with DBT for modular SQL development, testing, and deployment (3 years experience).
• Proficient in writing complex, efficient, and maintainable SQL queries.
• Experience with cloud environments such as Azure and AWS, and data management technologies.
• Proven ability to design and implement data extraction, transformation, and loading processes.
• Proficiency in using Git and Azure DevOps for version control of code.
• Experience with IT automation, batch scheduling, and DevOps principles.
• Ability to mentor junior resources and share knowledge effectively.
• Stay updated with the latest Snowflake features and best practices.

Preferred Skills & Qualifications

• Experience with Python scripting.
• Real-time hands-on experience with Snowflake, DBT, and EDW.
• Strong expertise in writing complex PL SQL queries and PROD support experience.
• Familiarity with Agile delivery and P&C domain experience.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet data-driven business objectives.
• Mentor junior resources and share knowledge, working as a team to deliver requirements.
• Stay updated with the latest Snowflake features and best practices.
