This large tertiary Trauma Centre provides opportunities in a broad base of emergency nursing from Pediatrics to Trauma Care. The Unit Manager (UM) will report to and assist the Patient Care Manager in ensuring the provision of high quality and safe patient care on the nursing unit. Description:
As part pf the leadership team, the Unit Manager - Emergency Department will work with the Patient Care Manager and the multidisciplinary team in ensuring a team environment and participate in new initiatives. Coordinate clinical activities including providing day to day direction to the staff working on the unit, daily assignment of patients, patient rounds, staff scheduling, multidisciplinary rounds, identifying and attempting to resolve patient and staff concerns and participating actively in the discharge planning process. Identifies issues, resolves them where possible and communicates them to the appropriate team member. Responsible for efficient use of fiscal human and material resources and provides leadership to the front-line staff. information in this field.
