We are seeking a skilled and dedicated individual to join the Primary Care Alberta (PCA) provincial central referral intake program. Reporting to the PCA Director of Referral Management, the Unit Manager will oversee daily operations, monitoring data, reporting, management, and quality improvement efforts. This leadership role is crucial for fostering collaborative relationships with primary and specialty care providers and acute care operations, while ensuring a patient-centered approach and efficient resource management. The Unit Manager will make frontline decisions, improve cross-program communication, and facilitate patient access to specialty consultations. As a key member of the PCA Central Referral Intake team, the Unit Manager will drive quality and safety initiatives, support effective partnerships, and lead change implementation, all while ensuring care aligns with PCA's mission, vision, and values.

Required Qualifications: Completion of an accredited nursing or healthcare-related program, with active registration or eligibility for a practice permit with the relevant college, is required. A minimum of 3-5 years of progressive leadership experience in a central referral intake setting, or acute care nursing in a surgical procedure setting or clinic is necessary. Knowledge of surgical specialties, and an understanding of referrals, primary care, and specialty care services is essential. Proficiency in computer programs such as MS Teams, Microsoft Outlook, Tableau, Excel, Word, Access, Alberta Netcare, and Connect Care is required. Additional Required Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have proven experience in leading teams, developing workflows, and ensuring adherence to best practices and standard operating procedures within the central intake program. Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills are essential, along with the ability to collaborate effectively with physicians, healthcare professionals, and patients. Strong problem-solving, decision-making, and attention to detail skills are necessary. Experience in conflict management, working independently, managing time effectively, and leading change is also required. The candidate should have the ability to interpret data to identify quality improvement opportunities. An understanding of collective bargaining units is required, along with the ability to handle high-stress situations and complex issues with accuracy and attention to detail. Preferred Qualifications: Experience with RightFax and Genysis. Completion of change management program. Recent experience in a central intake setting. Previous experience with reviewing data and interpreting reporting outcomes.
