Your Opportunity:The Unit Manager is responsible for providing interdisciplinary clinical leadership and operational management for patient care units. Activities are achieved through a presence and visibility on the unit. Through clinical leadership, mentoring, coaching and performance management of staff, the Unit Manager ensures high quality patient care. This role is responsible to coach team members to achieve comprehensive and integrated care planning, promote the development of clinical practice quality improvements, implement evidence-based practice and critically assess, evaluate, anticipate and address risks to patient and staff safety. This role leads the implementation of provincial, zone and local clinical and operational priorities and initiatives at the unit level. It is expected that the Unit Manager will develop and maintain strong working relationships with key stakeholders. Accountable for the implementation and sustainability of collaborative care and appropriate scope of practice in clinical operations that support quality clinical performance and safe clinical outcomes. Some outcomes of interest include: Patient and family centered care, high performing teams, quality management processes, collaborative practice including all health/support disciplines and safe care/work environments. Responsible to coach, mentor and lead team members in the delivery of quality care and clinical quality improvements. Required Qualifications:Must have strong clinical nursing skills with experience in clinical practice, leadership, facilitation, coaching, people management, change management and quality improvement. Knowledge of acute care is required. Knowledge of AHS, Alberta\'s healthcare structure, and of collective agreements. Equivalency of education and experience will be considered. Active registration with CARNA required. Current BCLS-HCP required- issued from Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada (HSFC) only. Demonstrated experience in clinical nursing practice, of which a minimum of 3 years clinical nursing experience is required. Additional Required Qualifications:As required. Preferred Qualifications:Baccalaureate degree in Nursing required. Demonstrated experience in a leadership role (e.g. Charge Nurse, Nurse Educator, Professional Practice Lead, etc.) an asset.
