Your Opportunity:The Unit Manager for Stollery Seasonal Capacity will report to and assist the Patient Care Manager in ensuring the provision of high quality and safe patient care on the pediatric medicine units through the effective and efficient management of human, material, and financial resources. This position will be responsible for overseeing the proactive planning and daily operations of the pediatric seasonal unit and response, managing a staff portfolio consisting of year-round, relief, seasonal, and casual positions within the inpatient pediatric medicine portfolio. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the coordination of clinical activities through day-to-day guidance and support for the staff working on the units; daily assignment of patients; patient and family rounds; staff scheduling, education, and evaluation; participating actively in the discharge planning process; leading and supporting quality and safety initiatives; and identifying and attempting to resolve patient and staff concerns. The Unit Manager will maintain open and timely communication with the multidisciplinary team and Patient Care Manager. As a member of the management team the Unit Manager may assist in developing strategic plans, support process improvement initiatives, collaborate to determine priorities, develop, and implement operational plans.Description:The Unit Manager for Stollery Surge is responsible for supporting the Patient Care Manager in ensuring the delivery of high-quality and safe patient care by effectively managing human, material, and financial resources. The incumbent will foster strong working relationships and collaboration with various teams and leaders to develop, plan, and manage the Stollery Surge response. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, coordinating clinical activities through daily guidance and support for staff working on the unit. This includes actively engaging in the daily assignment of patients, conducting patient and family rounds, handling staff scheduling, education, evaluation, and addressing and supporting patient and staff concerns. The Unit Manager will support clinical services and care on the unit, taking a lead role in quality and safety initiatives to ensure the safe delivery of patient care. The Unit Manager maintains open and timely communication with patients, staff, the multidisciplinary team, and the Patient Care Manager and is responsible for actively identifying and addressing concerns. The roles and responsibilities of this role may evolve according to program priorities and growth.
