About the role We\xe2\x80\x99re looking for an Underwriting Assistant to join our growing team! As an Underwriting Assistant in our Personal Lines department, your work will have a big impact within our underwriting distribution department. People will count on you to deliver Intact\xe2\x80\x99s legendary service by analyzing, selecting and processing risks in personal insurance to contribute to a profitable portfolio of business. This is one year contract/secondment position located in Vancouver or Victoria BC.
What you\xe2\x80\x99ll do here:

• Process insurance policy renewals, endorsements and cancellations
• Review account information, communicate changes with accounts, confirm policy information, discuss coverages, options and payment plans
• Review select underwriting reports and establish required action based on authority level
• Answer inquiries from brokers promptly and courteously

What you bring to the table:

• Minimum of one (1) year office related experience
• Post Secondary education is an asset
• Working towards the Chartered Insurance Professional (CIP) designation is an asset
• Legendary customer service and relationship building skills
• Adaptable and flexible with the ability to prioritise work
• Proficient data entry skills and strong attention to detail
• Exemplary written and verbal communication
• Computer proficient with the ability to navigate through multiple systems
