The primary purpose of this position is to provide administrative support and assistance to the Underwriting Team.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Process new business, endorsements, renewals, cancellations and policy reinstatements
Perform data entry, data calculations/computations.
Communicate successfully with underwriters and brokers for verification and qualification of information, and to request required information for the underwriting file.
Promptly respond to and investigate underwriting, broker, and policy holder service requests and other various correspondences.
Issue U.S. Filings and Permits processing at the direction of underwriters.
Other duties as assigned by Department Manager.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
Post Secondary Diploma in business/insurance, or equivalent experience.
Currently pursuing a CIP designation
Skills, Knowledge, Experience:
Previous experience in an office environment.
Excellent communication skills, verbal and written.
Competence with MS Office.
Excellent keyboarding and data entry skills.
Strong math skills. Excellent organization skills, showing attention to detail and the ability to meet deadlines
Ability to handle multiple tasks and priorities.
Demonstrated commitment to customer service philosophy.
Team oriented and self-motivated.
