Position Details
What You Will Do
Reporting to the supervisor, the Underwriting Assistant is responsible for providing administrative support to the underwriting team.
Ensure all policies are issued within service standards with the appropriate wordings, schedules, and certificates attached
Verification of insurance certificates issued by our brokers.
Communicate directly with brokers to track current quote requests.
Assist underwriters with the pre-selection of quotes and summarize basic exposures.
Completion of worksheets
Gather and review information for monthly activity reports
Review, prepare, create, request and send incoming and outgoing mail, reports and forms
Other assigned duties, including managing the team's inbox
Who You Are
Must be a High School Graduate
Interest in CIP program
1-3 years of experience in a similar position
Strong keyboarding skills
Proficient with Microsoft applications - Word and Excel
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal and strong interpersonal skills
Excellent customer service skills
Ability to work in an environment fostering teamwork
Ability to thrive in a highly structured, detail oriented environment.
Ability to effectively manage time and meet departmental deadlines
Bilingual French and English - an asset
