Personal Lines Underwriter
to join us in supporting our brokers and clients through efficient, precise, and client-centered underwriting practices.

Key Responsibilities
As a Personal Lines Underwriter, you will perform a full range of policy underwriting functions related to Personal Insurance. This includes liaising between brokers, producers, and carrier underwriters while ensuring high-quality service and compliance.
Core Duties:
Administer and monitor underwriting rules, rating manual rules, and insurance laws/regulations to underwrite and document new and renewal policy transactions within authority.
Evaluate, classify, and rate risks to determine acceptability, coverage, and pricing according to underwriting requirements.
Review applications and paperwork for accuracy, ensuring all required signatures and information are complete before processing.
Order, review, and take action on required reports, endorsements, and service requests.
Analyze individual risk pricing for new business and renewals, ensuring competitiveness and alignment with underwriting standards.
Communicate with brokers to gather necessary information, clarify coverage details, and address underwriting issues.
Underwrite new business, renewals, and endorsements by assessing risk and loss potential.
Maintain service levels and performance targets, while actively planning for improvement with leadership.
Contribute to continuous process improvement and uphold accurate documentation of underwriting decisions.
Determine eligibility for policy renewals based on company guidelines and retention objectives.
Communicate underwriting decisions promptly and professionally.
Understand and apply rating procedures, wordings, underwriting policies, and compliance regulations.
Handle work efficiently, support team goals, and maintain positive working relationships internally and externally.
Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications & Experience
Education:
High School Diploma/GED required; some college or related coursework preferred.
Experience:
1-3 years of relevant underwriting or insurance experience.
Technical Skills:

EPIC
and
Applied Rater
is required.
+ Strong computer literacy and familiarity with insurance management systems.
