Based in Charlottetown, the Insurance Company of Prince Edward Island (ICPEI) is a Canadian insurer offering home, auto and commercial insurance solutions. Our products are sold exclusively through a network of brokers in Canada.

Since its founding in 1987, ICPEI has steadily grown, building a solid reputation on its rigorous approach to risk selection. In March 2024, the company became the brokerage subsidiary of Desjardins General Insurance Group (DGIG).

Your role

Reporting to the Underwriting manager, this position includes processing new business, renewals, cancellations, and endorsements for home and auto insurance policies in the Maritime Provinces. Responsibilities will include regular communication by telephone and email responding to broker inquiries, building strong relationships with our broker network and actively promoting the ICPEI brand.

What you bring to the position

Minimum 2 years of P&C insurance experience

Ability to exercise sound judgement and risk assessment

Excellent negotiation and analytical skills

Ability to work independently and make decisions confidently

Strong oral and written communication skills

Strong time management, problem solving and organizational skills

Expertise with Microsoft Office Suite programs

Bilingual an asset (French/English)

What you will do

Identify and underwrite new business, process renewals and endorsements

Build strong relationships with brokers and maintain high levels of service

Participate in production trips, broker visits and corporate functions as required

Adhere to Company guidelines, contracts, authority limits and standards

Analyze market trends, risk profitability, exposures and hazards

Contribute to the development of the Personal Lines team
