OVERVIEW Hecla owns the majority of the historic high-grade Keno Hill Silver District located in Canada\xe2\x80\x99s Yukon Territory. We\xe2\x80\x99re developing two underground deposits, the Bermingham mine and the Flame & Moth. This is a great opportunity to be part of the team that is operating one of the highest-grade silver operations in the world. We are looking for an individual to join our growing team. The Miner 1 and Miner 2 positions will report to the Mine Supervisor. This is a 14 day on / 14 day off rotation at our Keno Hill Mine in Elsa, Yukon. All air and ground travel arrangements from Point of Hire (POH) to site and return are included for this position. RESPONSIBILITIES

• Achieve production and development targets by operating equipment to undertake drilling activities in a safe and efficient manner
• Lead and motivate team by executing and promoting safe working practices and site safety guidelines
• Responsible for the preparation for advancement of development headings
• Visually inspect, sound, scale and wash down work area, check for bootlegs and miss holes, flags and lifters, and paint the face
• Assess ground conditions at the face and implement ground control according to site requirements
• Install ground support as per Ground Control Management Plan (GCMP)
• Perform minor repairs such as changing striker bars, couplings, water tunes and hose clamps
• Complete daily reports on equipment and workplace and submit written and verbal reports to the supervisor
• Load and prime development round with bulk emulsion and electronic detonators following engineering design
• Place guards at all entrances to the blast, blast according to project standards and remove guards after blasting
• Maintain working area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition
• Help with all aspects of the mining cycle (muck, truck, bolt, drill, load, services, etc.)
• Coach and mentor other employees

• Strong safety mindset
• Valid Class 5 Driver\xe2\x80\x99s License
• Must hold a valid Yukon blasting certification or be willing to write
• Mine Rescue Certification and Underground Blasting Certification would be highly regarded
• Demonstrated ability to read mine plans and specifications for underground mining
• Ability to undertake drilling and blasting activities in a safe and efficient manner
• Proficient in multiple functional areas typically associated with underground mining
• Qualified to operate various pieces of underground equipment safely and productively
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to understand and follow instructions
