Project Details:
Professor Peter Jones, Editor in Chief of the journal Context of the Systemic Design Association, is seeking a part-time RA with up-to-date Wordpress experience to assist his team in journal, article, and page format and content design. The SDA platform https://systemic-design.org/ and RSD Symposium https://rsdsymposium.org/ have been established and are growing with research and conference articles. The sites now have regular publications and the Contexts journal is due to be launched this Fall. Experience with plugins and the Divi Extra theme family is a plus.

Responsibilities:

Working under the supervision of the Principal Investigator, Dr. Peter Jones Associate Professor, Faculty of Design, in support of the project's research goals and objectives

Ability to independently construct HTML page layouts in Wordpress and to define page formats in customized Wordpress themes

Ability to design visual images forms in Photoshop and other tools for definition of website visual design presentation

Assisting with data collection, simple literature searches, web content compilation, and content summaries

Assisting the Principal Investigator, by conducting content analysis and composition, simple editing and layout

Participating in the provision of safe and secure environment for all members of the University community and its facilities

Qualifications:

Completion of a relevant undergraduate/graduate degree or current enrollment in a relevant undergraduate program and/or equivalent training and professional experience

Demonstrates relevant, sound knowledge of, and commitment to healthy and safe work practices

Has strong organizational, interpersonal, oral and written communications and problem solving skills

Demonstrated commitment to the principles of equity and diversity and experience promoting a respectful work and learning environment for students, staff and faculty

Hours of Work: 4 hours per week over the period of 27, September, 2022 to 18, November, 2022 (40 hours)

Work Environment: The incumbent in this role will be working online and meeting virtually with the team.

OCAD University's vaccine mandate will be in abeyance until further notice. However, to ensure continuity of teaching, learning and campus activities throughout the year, the University expects all students, staff and faculty to maintain up-to-date vaccination records.

Compensation: $20.19 (Undergraduate Rate) /$32.00 (Graduate Rate) per hour, subject to qualifications, plus 6% in lieu of benefits plus vacation pay, as applicable, per the provisions of the Employment Standards Act

This appointment is conditional upon funding of the Project by OCAD U's external funding partner(s)

Full-time graduate students may not accept research assistantships or other university-related employment in excess of 10 hours per week (or 130 hours per semester), as mandated by the Ontario Council of Graduate Studies (OCGS).
