Elite Digital Inc. (https://elitedigitalagency.com/) is an award-winning digital marketing agency that is growing rapidly. Elite has over 90 employees and we are expanding once again! As a result, we are looking for a UI/UX Web Developer who will produce solutions that demonstrate their expertise on industry practices.
JOB SUMMARY
Reporting to the Web Development and Technology Director, the UI/UX Web Developer delivers high quality production-ready code, performs complex design, implementation and testing tasks that impact the user experience goals for multiple systems. The ideal candidate will produce solutions that meet target user experience goals in all categories - aesthetics, usability, and usefulness, and demonstrate expertise, application and knowledge of industry practices in designing graphical user interfaces and information architectures. Some of their responsibilities include the following; They perform organization and complex analyses, prepare discussions and accurate status reports on solution deliverables, develop solutions using technologies and tests for high-quality, and create modern browser-compatible web pages for multiple device resolutions with specifications that will evolve with internet browsers.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Performs routine tasks designing and developing graphical user interfaces and online applications on defined projects to achieve team-level goals with independent results to find the right solutions to solve defined problems. Produces UI/UX solutions that meet target user experience goals in all categories
  • - aesthetics, usability, and usefulness. Consistently points out non-obvious flaws or under-specified scenarios in a specification.
  • Performs routine data operations using various web technologies, SaSS platforms and data formats. Interprets requests and designs solutions for users. Uses existing approaches to solve defined problems.
  • Works collaboratively with cross-functional teams to solve new problems, learn and gather data for user experience designs and test driven development documentation.
  • Performs routine design operations to learn more about and formulate definitions of customers and their products, and work to resolve quality challenges. Organizes and builds high-value foundations in technology-based UI templates and web components for designs and visual solutions. Communicates solutions to team members and may help to build libraries of visual solutions and web components.
  • Produces reports that contain enough detailed information for developers enabling them to quickly identify the root cause making the bugs more actionable. Performs use testing with information by the specs, basic knowledge of the architecture, and reasonable assumptions (e.g. frontend vs backend changes). Prepares highly accurate status reports on solution deliverables.
  • Performs with a deep understanding of the surface area under test and its integration points, uses it to craft highly targeted and accurate user experience coverage.
  • Performs online troubleshooting and browser-compatibility problem analyses. Interprets test results and develops interactive tools for users of web browser technologies.
  • Able to act as a subject matter expert on design and testing over parts of application solution.
  • Able to identify and explain the root cause of improvements in areas, able to provide highly valuable product reviews. Able to exhibit good attention to detail and consistently notice bugs that might not be caught at product definition and verification steps.
  • Proactively communicates report status and quality risks and able to leverage basic quality metrics effectively when doing this. Monitors and develops changes to improve quality within software application releases that impact user experience.
  • Performs in day-to-day operations and interprets user reviews. Able to use UX customer understanding to provide clear and compelling arguments for priorities.
  • Work with subject matter experts to identify and write use cases that would require domain knowledge (edge cases related to code architecture, test cases around integration points) to ensure testing is thorough.
  • Define the right test cases and independently identify the right solutions to solve ambiguous, open-ended problems.
  • Performs use testing (e.g. product, frontend, backend, automation, usability, or a specific platform).
  • Write application user messaging, application user guides to support a shared learning and team approaches.
  • Adhere to branding and application design guidelines, practices, policies.
  • Adhere to all team software engineering guidelines, practices, Elite Digital design policies.
  • Act as a positive example to peers.
  • Explain and advocate for established quality processes that enable effective product design and quality management.
  • Help build an established UX and Quality Processes that drives effective product management.
  • Explain how changes in their execution can impact quality.
  • Prioritize test coverage based on straightforward criteria (e.g. happy path vs. not, number of users on a platform, customer impact, etc..).
  • Performs duties for the day-to-day operations.

EDUCATION & TRAINING
  • Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s Degree in an appropriate field

EXPERIENCE, TECHNICAL SKILLS and KEY COMPETENCIES
  • Demonstrate professional competencies, application and knowledge of industry practices with User Experience Analysis; Web Content Accessibility Guildelines; Web Browser Compatibility Testing; Web Browsers; Web Development Tools; Web Markup; Web Protocols;
  • Demonstrate competencies, application and knowledge of industry practices in technologies, in designing and developing graphical user interfaces. Practical experience with Adobe Illustrator/Photoshop/Experience Manager, Figma, InvisionApp/UsePastel/PageProof.
  • Experience working in an Agile environment where delivery and execution is critical
  • Experience working with data formats including interactions with data entry UI and with syntactical data files (e.g. YAML, MD).
  • Experience using many web technology application systems is critical.
  • Experience using ticketing systems like Jira/Clickup, GoogleDocs.
  • Experience using blisk.io or equivalent testing services.
  • Ideal development knowledge and skills in Mobile-Responsive Theming in W3C compliant and WCAG compliant HTML, CSS, and SaSS.
  • Ideal experience supporting the most popular browsers and comfortable writing clean code that supports some modern web browsers.
  • Ideal experience in PHP/WordPress, or JavaScript Technologies / NextJS, ReactJS, NodeJS and TailwindCSS.
  • Ideal experience with subversion control systems (with a preference for Git)
  • Be willing to participate in learning opportunities to expand your knowledge on various topics
