UAV Operations Coordinator | Niricson Software Inc. Location: Victoria, Vancouver or Kelowna, BC

You will work closely with our Sales and Customer Success team. We work with large-scale civil infrastructure projects spanning Canada, the United States, and Internationally. We use proprietary damage assessment sensors and software to verify civil structural integrity and safety. Our innovative technologies collect data and provide actionable insight in a safer, more efficient, reliable, and accurate manner compared to traditional subjective manual methods that are time-consuming, inconsistent, costly, and dangerous.
About the role
We have an exciting opportunity for you to join our small, driven, UAV Operations team. As a UAV Operations Technologist, you will support our UAV Operations team in coordinating and executing field operations as we collect aerial data, with drones, on infrastructure assets around the world. Working closely with our third-party drone partners and clients, your role will be to execute a successful operation and strengthen relationships with these stakeholders. You will also be working closely with our Geospatial and Acoustic team members to ensure that data meets specified standards for our analytics teams. Outside of the field, you will support the team in managing upcoming projects and helping to build workflows and processes that will allow Niricson to scale our operational capacity. An ability to communicate and collaborate with both internal teams and external stakeholders is expected.
Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and execute field operations, supporting our third-party drone partners and/or clients in collecting data.
  • Collaborating with internal teams to aid in the development of equipment and software.
  • Strengthen relationships with drone partners and clients while in the field.

Required Qualifications
  • Degree/diploma in GIS, remote sensing, or a related field.
  • 1-2+ years’ experience in managing aerial data sets for photogrammetric or cinematic purposes.
  • Experienced in field operations.
  • Strong management and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to balance and prioritize responsibilities.
  • Willingness to work independently and be a self-starter.
  • Ability to travel up to 50%.
  • Strong critical thinking skills with an ability to problem-solve.

Preference may be given to applicants with the following:
  • RPAS-Advanced or -Basic Licensed Pilot.
  • Experience working with photogrammetry software, particularly from Bentley.
  • Experience trouble-shooting drone technology using open-source information.
  • Experience in project management or coordination.
  • Experience with UAV-based infrastructure inspections
  • Demonstrate enthusiasm and energy towards drone technology.

Job Type: Full-time, Permanent Pay: Base Salary ($50,000 - $60,000) + Bonus + Stock Options
