Job Description

Introduction

TSC is a dynamic, family-oriented ski club, with a rich ski racing heritage. The role of the OCUP U16, Assistant Coach is to help, and manage, a safe effective, athlete focused ski training and racing program, in alignment with the TSC Alpine Programs vision to "Inspire Excellence in Sport and Life".

Position

This is a full-time seasonal position from December to March. The TSC is looking for one U16 Ocup assistant. Ideal candidates are at least Development Level Trained (TSC has an in house certification program) or higher with at least 3 years' experience. Race experience is also considered for Entry Level coaches.

Duties

Physical Training and Pre-season Program,

In conjunction with our on-snow training environments

Help supervise clubhouse dryland and off snow training

Help manage injuries and return to activity in conjunction with medical recommendations.

On Snow Training and Preparation Program

Help execute a seasonal training program that meets the athlete's needs and TSC objectives, reviewed both pre and post season with Lead Coach.

Stay up to date on weekly, monthly and seasonal communications including but not limited to; training plans, upcoming projects or races, and training days, to Athletes, Families, and TSC Race Admin/Lead Coach.

Attend training camps/away races

Help execute on hill coaching and training sessions.

Competition Program

Be knowledgeable about appropriate regional, national or international rules and regulations that govern alpine ski racing.

Be aware of race quotas, AOA event/team selection criteria.

Administration

Help manage athlete behavior in accordance with TSC code of conduct agreements.

Help manage athlete/parent communications as per the TSC communications policy

Help provide race result updates/podium photos for Club Newsletter.

Contract length: 4 months

Pay: From $22.00 per hour

Expected hours: 32 per week
