We are seeking an experienced and motivated Alpine Head Coach to lead our Alpine Ski Racing Program. This is a dynamic leadership role responsible for planning and executing all aspects of athlete development, training, and competition programming. The successful candidate will bring a balance of technical expertise, leadership acumen, and passion for fostering a safe, inclusive, and high-performance team culture.

As the Alpine Head Coach, you will be instrumental in advancing the club's mission--developing confident, capable athletes who strive for excellence both on and off the hill. You'll work closely with the Board of Directors and coaching staff to ensure programs align with BC Alpine standards and the Long-Term Athlete Development (LTAD) model.

Key Responsibilities

Design and deliver comprehensive on-snow training plans aligned with LTAD principles and seasonal goals. Provide individualized technical coaching, video analysis, and performance feedback. Supervise all on-snow activities with an emphasis on athlete safety, skill progression, and enjoyment. Attend and support athletes at sanctioned races and camps, offering race strategy, course inspection, and post-race debriefs.

Competition & Event Management

Plan athlete participation across local, regional, and provincial competitions. Oversee competition registration, equipment management, and travel logistics. Analyze race outcomes to inform future training priorities and athlete development plans.

Program Leadership & Staff Development

Recruit, train, and mentor assistant coaches within the Alpine program. Lead regular staff meetings, ensuring alignment with club objectives and technical standards. Conduct end-of-season evaluations and performance reviews for coaching staff. Promote collaboration and professional growth within the coaching team.

Administration & Compliance

Ensure all athletes and staff meet eligibility, certification, and SafeSport requirements. Maintain accurate rosters, attendance, and competition data. Submit reports, timesheets, and updates to the Board and Program Administrator.

Communication & Stakeholder Relations

Maintain proactive communication with athletes, parents, and the Board regarding schedules, competition updates, and athlete progress. Represent the club at events and act as a liaison with BC Alpine and community partners. Contribute to a positive, professional, and inclusive club culture.

Qualifications

Coaching certification appropriate to Alpine or Freestyle skiing (e.g., Entry Level or equivalent). Current SafeSport certification (or ability to obtain before season start). First Aid and CPR certification (or willingness to obtain). Familiarity with BC Alpine or Freestyle BC competition structures and LTAD model. A minimum of 1-3 years of coaching or instructing experience in a youth or sport environment. Strong communication and interpersonal skills with athletes and families. A passion for athlete growth and commitment to safety.

What You Bring

A positive, professional, and growth-oriented mindset. Strong organizational and planning abilities. Adaptability to changing weather, athlete needs, and competition schedules. A collaborative spirit--ready to work with athletes, parents, and fellow coaches. Enthusiasm for creating memorable experiences on and off the snow.
