Ottawa office and SGL field project locations worldwide
Responsibilities of the Position
- Responsible for the operation and safety of the aircraft they command and for all those on board during the flight;
- Assist in monitoring on-board geophysical equipment;
- Complete preflight inspections and postflight reports;
- Liaise with foreign aviation authorities;
- For each flight, become familiar with:
- the planned route/flight plan;
- the aerodromes planned for normal and emergency use, and
- the survey navigation equipment and ensure that it is in working order.
- Ensure the following has been met:
- the flight as planned can be made safely; and
- the aircraft equipment including emergency, survival and safety equipment are installed.
Qualifications and Experience
- A valid commercial pilot´s licence with group 1 instrument rating;
- A valid passport or the ability to obtain a valid passport for the purpose of traveling globally;
- Willing to travel to our global survey sites;
- Previous survey flying experience;
- International flying experience an asset;
- Experience on de Havilland Twin Otters; and
- Additional languages an asset.
