Job Description

As a Turnaround Maintenance Engineer, you will support maintenance work and capital upgrades during turnaround events by collaborating with planning, execution, and cross-functional teams. Your goal will be to ensure all turnaround planning and execution deliverables are met with safety as the top priority. Your success will come from being actively involved in the entire turnaround process—from planning through execution to close-out—and being willing and able to work in the field while adhering to all required PPE standards.

Your Responsibilities:


Provide engineering support to the turnaround execution and planning teams Provide technical direction and solutions to problems including detailed repair plans Ensure all repair plans adhere to all applicable codes, standards, and internal instructions Develop Engineering Work Orders and material take offs (MTOs) Develop engineering packages for procuring new equipment Work with cross-functional teams to provide input for risk assessment for design and execution Participate and provide technical support during Turnaround execution Identify as well as implement opportunities for improvement for equipment and processes Help complete close out activities of Turnaround Events Manage competing priorities and tight deadlines Participate in the Refinery On-Call rotation
Your Skills:


Ability to make timely decisions considering competing priorities and tight deadlines Work independently with strong attention to detail Attention to schedule and cost Keen analytical and problem-solving skills Very good written and verbal communication skills Very organized with a strong ability to prioritize in collaboration with your team
Your Experience:


Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering. Other academic qualifications would be considered 3+ years of experience in a directly related role is a requirement Experience with ASME codes: Section VIII, B31.3, PCC-1, PCC2 is an asset Experience with API codes: 510, 570, 579 is an asset Experience with design, repair, and alteration of piping and/or pressure vessels is an asset Experience with piping stress analysis is an asset Experience working on-site in refining operations is an asset Experience working plant turnarounds/shutdowns is an asset PEng designation is an asset
