Job Description

Truss Manufacturing facility seeking an intermediate level Truss Designer. Dynamic Southern Ontario company with an excellent compensation package based on experience, including a competitive salary, vacation time and group benefits. In office will be preferred with flexibility to hybrid to the right candidate.

Position:
- Read, interpret, and understand blueprints and the building codes relating to residential and commercial projects.
- Ability to examine drawings and blueprints for intent, conformity, and error.
- Design trusses, beams and column components ensuring correct loading has been applied according to customer requirements, blueprints, and engineered specifications.
- Produce roof layouts and load development using MiTek Structure and CAD software programs.
- Generate quotes quickly, efficiently, and accurately for customers.
- The skills to deal with a dynamic internal team, support a variety of customers, exhibit exceptional customer service attitude to build strong working relationships.
- Communication with engineers, architects, contractors, and lead project managers regarding project details prior to and during construction.
- Maintain positive working relationships with co-workers.
- Demonstrated skills working in a team environment.
- Willing to learn and contribute in whatever way possible.
- Proven ability at meeting strict deadline requirements.
- Attend and participate in all Company sponsored training programs as required.

Qualifications:
- Technical diploma or engineering degree preferred but not necessary.
- Minimum 3 years work experience in engineered wood truss design.
- Comprehensive knowledge of the building code and construction process as it relates to single family, multi-family and light commercial wood framed construction.
- Understanding of local building codes and construction practices.
