Primary Responsibilities:
- Negotiating rates & booking shipments with in-house trucking companies, partner carriers or other trucking companies.
- Follow up with partner carriers on pickup & delivery status.
- Closely track shipment status
- Advise Customer Service/Sales Agents of any issues such as shipment delay, damage, overages & shortages
- Provide Load Tenders to carriers
- Identifying carriers for LTL/TL moves within Canada, between Canada & USA and within USA.
- Entering the shipment details into company dispatch system (TMS).
- Verify that all trucking companies have active permits and insurance coverages.
- Review & approve invoices received from carrier. Discuss any inconsistencies with carrier and update dispatch software as necessary.
- Ensure delivery commitments are achieved
- Ability to plan and prioritize tasks.
- Minimum 1 years experience in the trucking industry
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to make quick decisions in a fast-paced environment
- Strong attention to details
- Ability to manage time effectively and multi-task
- Must be a team player and at same time be an independent worker able to get things done in a highly efficient & professional manner.
