Challenger Enterprises Ltd. is looking for a full-time Truck & Transport Shop Manager to join our mechanical team.

About Us:

Challenger Enterprises Ltd. is a full phase logging contractor with over 30 years experience in logging. We own and repair all of our own logging equipment, trucks, trailers and company pick up trucks. We have a full size shop & bay pit that is located in the south end of

Nanaimo, British Columbia on Vancouver Island.

Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of truck and transport mechanics. Assign work orders, monitor progress, and ensure repairs are completed on time and to standard. Diagnose and troubleshoot complex mechanical issues when required. Oversee preventative maintenance schedules for trucks, trailers, and equipment. Maintain safety standards, ensuring compliance with company policies and industry regulations. Order and manage parts inventory as needed. Train, mentor, and support mechanics and apprentices. Communicate effectively with, drivers, and management regarding equipment status Ensure accurate record-keeping of maintenance and repairs. Participate in the development of, and the ability to follow maintenance procedures and instructions. Oversee shop safety procedures and run monthly safety meetings Knowledge of forestry equipment considered an asset References required
Qualifications & Skills:

Valid BC drivers license and clean BC Drivers Abstract required CVSE Inspection license would be an asset Strong ability to assess and prioritize repair requests Strong time management skills are a must Occupational First Aid not required but would be beneficial. Education and experience flexible to the right applicant. Good communication and organizational skills Strong general repair skills Strong mechanical aptitude & technical skills Strong personal commitment to safety and the well-being of coworkers Experience with logging trucks & trailers
Work remotely

Some Field Repair work may be required (Vancouver Island only)
Out of area applicants will be considered as long as you are willing to relocate to Nanaimo, British Columbia or nearby.
