:The De Beers Group has an opportunity within the Mobile Maintenance Department at the Gahcho Ku\xc3\xa9 Mine, Northwest Territories for a motivated and energetic Truck Shop Supervisor Day/Night shift. Reporting to the Mobile Maintenance Superintendent, Mobile Maintenance, the incumbent will be responsible for ensuring maximum mechanical availability of the mobile maintenance fleet, in the safest, most efficient, most accurate and most cost-effective manner. The department is fast paced, requiring a leader who can think on their feet and intelligently change priorities on short notice, while integrating the needs of Operations. The successful candidate will be mechanically credible in order to provide leadership to an experienced team of Heavy Equipment Technicians. This role will be instrumental in translating business objectives into executable deliverables in the field and on the shop floor. The ideal candidate is one who is committed to safe working practices and strives for zero harm.Key responsibilities:
  • Lead safety by example and continue the development of a positive safety culture;
  • Set expectations and accountabilities;
  • Lead daily toolbox talks and weekly safety meetings;
  • Execute maintenance plans as developed by Planning and Reliability;
  • Work with Reliability and Planning teams to develop actions for continuous improvement of maintenance tasks and shop operations;
  • Work with key stakeholders to achieve planned equipment availabilities; and
  • Manage Tool Crib operations to ensure tooling is adequate and available.
This position is on a 14 days in/14 days out rotation.Qualifications
  • Legally permitted to work in Canada.
  • Interprovincial Trade Certificate for Heavy Equipment.
  • Minimum of ten (10) years\' experience working in Open Pit Mining.
  • Minimum of five (5) years\' supervisory experience.
  • Detailed knowledge of established mining methods and operating practices.
  • Working experience of multiple shovel/drill/truck/track equipment operations.
  • Above average knowledge of the maintenance of Komatsu Equipment.
  • Strong skills in Microsoft Office particularly word processing and spreadsheets.
  • General knowledge of mining and the integration of the mining, milling, and maintenance functions.
  • Experience with Komatsu KOMTRAX and/or SAP an asset.
  • Strong communication skills and Active Listening.
  • Proven commitment to Safety, Health and Environmental Standards.
